Integrated Vehicle Safety
The department Integrated Vehicle Safety is one of the four departments within the unit Traffic & Transport. In a changing world of global challenges such as urbanization, digitalization, automation and the energy transition, TNO (unit T&T) wants to boost the competitive strength of industry and the well-being of society, by improving the safety, efficiency and sustainability of traffic & transport.
To realize our mission we exploit disruptive technologies such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, automated vehicles, self-organising logistics, new energy carriers and cooperative mobility.
We push the barriers of innovation in designing, developing, and testing world-class tools, simulations and assessment methodologies, for which we use a data-driven and evidence based approach.
The department Integrated Vehicle Safety (IVS) within the unit T&T, based in Helmond, has a strong focus on Connected and Automated Driving. Different research teams within the department focus amongst other on key topics like Road User Modelling & Prediction, (Shared) World Modelling and (Connected) Control and Operational and Functional Safety.
